Overall Satisfaction with Dundas BI

We are using Dundas BI for Data Analysis and Reporting purposes by our Data Analysis department. It allows us to generate reports, graphs, dashboards, etc for our members. Our prime requirement is to provide real-time data access to our large base of members which Dundas BI fulfills in a very cost-effective manner.

Pros

  • Their biggest strength is their customer support. I have not seen any other product company being so supportive and helpful for any issues being faced by the customers.
  • Dundas BI has a very intuitive and easy to learn UI. This enables a quick pickup.
  • They are very quick on updates and keep on adding newer features with frequent version upgrades.

Cons

  • Some of the features relating to the Look and Feel section are not so easy to grasp and in some places, they are kind of redundant. Need some work there.
  • Also, they ought to add a few more types of filters for working on data like a sliding calendar range filter
  • Coming from an SQL based standard delivery model, Dundas BI has provided a fantastic rate of ROI.
  • The preparation and delivery time has reduced from weeks to just a few hours.
We have tested Tableau prior to Dundas BI and though Tableau is a great package in itself, Dundas BI is much more cost-effective for our needs and requirements and hence zeroed in on Dundas BI.

We have also tried microstrategy but it has a very dated UI and doesn't suit our needs in today's more modern world.

It's very user-friendly with an appealing UI and easily recognizable Icon use for different features and tools. Also, it is very easy to program any features that are not available via out-of-the-box UI options.

Obviously, there is room for improvement with the sometimes confusing placement of some of the editing options.
Their customer support is second to none. They are always available on call/chat. I have received answers and/or solutions and fixes for every issue I have encountered with Dundas BI. And that too in quick time with patient and nicely explained detail. For that, they deserve nothing less than 10 stars!
For all the scenarios I have so far worked on or I am currently working on, Dundas BI has proved to be more than adequate and apt to handle all of those. It is a very easy-to-use tool with quick shortcuts enabling you to prepare ad-hoc reports or dashboards in a matter of minutes.

Yes - Yes, it was resolved with a bug fix within a few weeks.
There was this issue regarding the export to pdf for which I had to get back to them many times but every time I received a response and they were always very pleasant to communicate with making the overall experience very nice. They didn't have the solution at hand but they went out of their way to find and provide me with a workaround so that I could generate my reports on time.
