Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We design, program, and manage the Holiday light show for a municipality 40 miles away from our office. Last year we drove up 2-3 times each week to troubleshoot computer and/or networking issues. Since the show runs at night, that meant rural driving in the dark.

This year, the city added a 5G hotspot to the town square. I chose to test GoTo Resolve to manage the show remotely. After a generous 14-day trial, we became subscribers. This has been a success! As long as the PC doesn't get accidentally powered off, we can remote in to make changes to the show and fix any issues that arise.

While this is a strange use case, I can confidently recommend GoTo Resolve for your remote support needs.

Pros and Cons

High-level security for connection
Ease of use on the remote computer
Low network latency and improved response on remote computer

Cons

In our case, sending files from the remote computer back to our office has been challenging. But we overcame that with a third-party tool.
It would be nice to be able to transfer multiple files to the remote computer instead of one by one.
It took me a while to get used to the browser window darkening when I moved away to perform another task. It would be great if it could stay active so I could monitor the "stoplight" conditions of the show.

Return on Investment

Cost savings by reduction and/or elimination of drive time.
Peace of mind knowing we can monitor the show remotely.
Knowing we have a secure connection between our office and the show computer.

Usability

It was very intuitive to install and use. I was able to install the remote agent during one visit without issue. The connection from the office is browser-based and doesn't require a standalone app to use. This is a huge benefit!

All in One Platform

While we're not in the IT Support business, being able to monitor and change a multimedia production in another town remotely is a game changer! We will look at deploying this in other show production instances.

GoTo Resolve fits our use case perfectly. As a multimedia production company, it's challenging to staff remote locations. Having the ability to remote into the production system and monitor the show status has been a game changer for us. I chose this product based on previous reviews that I read. I am delighted with my decision, and we will continue to deploy it as needed.
