Overall Satisfaction with GoTo Resolve

We use GoTo Resolve to assist remote users, administer remote computers, deploy applications, updates, control with powershell console, and I am currently using AI in beta to create deployments to individual / groups of computers, its been a great step up from GoToAssist. Really liking the security and extra features that we get that we did not have with GoToAssist.
  • Remote powershell console
  • Ability to deploy applications etc to remote computers when they come online without having to each one individually and manually.
  • Checking on windows updates / AV and updating where need be
  • Remote control to assist remote users
  • The creation of deployment tasks was sometimes hit and miss, the added in AI (in beta) does resolve these problems when you are not sure.
  • Sometimes it is difficult to share / transfer sessions.
  • Having a new admin key approved by another admin can be a bit of a pain when you are on a sole shift and the others are not available.
  • Feature boost compared to previously used GoToAssist
  • Can sometimes be a bit finicky when deploying apps getting to command line options to be formatted correctly
  • Beta AI is a breeze to resolve the above issues I have come across
It's easy to install, easy to use, and gives us more features to use, like file explorer, PowerShell console, app deployment scripting, windows updates, AV status, hardware info, current usage, all without having to actually remote into the machine is making life a lot easier than we previously had with GoToAssist.
The remote access options are definitely a plus, we do not use the ticketing side at present as we have a separate helpdesk with historical data in it, monitoring may be expanded, and alerting also if we do away with current systems, providing the GoTo Resolve features work as we want them to. We are still trialing / testing so cannot really comment on them right now, but I am sure we will be able to work them into our infrastructure to do what we need them to.
I think GoTo Resolve has a lot more features than AnyDesk, I use AnyDesk as a backup when there have been issues getting remote control of a system, which has been few and far between. We also had GoToAssist prior to GoTo Resolve and it was good also, but GoTo Resolve has a lot more features which are exploring and putting into use

Do you think GoTo Resolve delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with GoTo Resolve's feature set?

Yes

Did GoTo Resolve live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of GoTo Resolve go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy GoTo Resolve again?

Yes

SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor, Microsoft Teams
Deployment of ActZero agent across all computers was a breeze by setting up the deployment to groups of computers that were online at different times.
Checking Windows updates are up to date and Windows 10 versions were a breeze using the built-in monitoring.
Help Desk chaps use remote assistance multiple times a day since our end users are spread out in various locations.
And For me, the remote PowerShell console is a brilliant addition when winrm is blocked due to networks, etc making script running a breeze on the fly.

Using GoTo Resolve

8 - They are IT and we use it to assist the end user community in our company for remote control of their PCs, we also use it to access and use remote PCs that do not have users at the keyboard and a couple of us use it to get info about our hardware, current usage stats of a machine, remote app deployment, etc.
8 - They are all IT personnel who have the knowledge of how to use the basics of the system, and as we use more features, we teach them how to use those also. Most of the IT dept are competent and are able to figure feature usage for themselves so ideally, just a general IT personnel knowledge would suffice.
  • App deployment
  • Remote assistance
  • Windows / AV updates
  • AI beta is great for deploying applications either by .exe or .msi format and creation of command line options used during installation.
  • I am looking at ticketing system
  • I am looking at possibilities in other features we can put to use
I would say yes, we would definitely renew, everyone likes it in the IT dept, and there are more features we have yet to put to use. I am expanding the Windows update / Endpoint features as I get time, and the remote PowerShell console is unbeatable for me at present when facing remote computers that are not letting create a new remote PSSession.
