Groove works well for tracking email communication
Overall Satisfaction with Groove
We use Groove across our sales team, and have some adoption within other teams, to track email communication with clients. It's incredibly helpful to have visibility both into clients who have never opened an email we have sent (as we can follow up via phone and make sure we have the right address, aren't caught in a junk folder, etc) and to have visibility into people who are opening emails multiple times without responding. We've closed multiple contracts based on strategic outreach due to information we get from Groove. Once you know someone is looking over what you sent them, it's a great time to drop a line to check in.
Pros
- Visibility into email engagement.
- Ability to flag emails that aren't opened or read.
- Ability to create scripts for automated responses.
Cons
- False positives can be an issue - like being notified that an email was opened when it was you opening it.
- The integration of email scripting can feel a little clunky in terms of how it compares to our normal email process.
- Depending on how settings are managed, there can be issues separating signal from noise.
- We've definitely been able to close contracts due to the visibility in people reviewing/re-opening things we sent awhile back.
- There's also been value in seeing what messages go unopened, and being able to follow up on those issues.
Groove was recommended by a consultant and I can't say we did the most thorough evaluation of the other options on the market. It seemed to offer a pretty robust set of features in terms of the things that were most important to us, and integrated well with our use of Salesforce as a CRM.
