Overall Satisfaction with IBM API Connect

We use IBM API Connect as a company-wide API management solution to connect provider and consumer applications between cloud and on-premises environments, bring transparency to integration and APIs, to monitor API usage and to secure API traffic.
  • API product management
  • API subscription management
  • API security
  • API portal for multiple catalogs
  • API dev tools (API Designer)
  • API deployment pipelines
  • Gateway stability
  • General product quality
  • faster time to market for APIs
  • increased transparency on existing APIs and webservices
  • ability to consume on-premises data in the cloud via API gateway
From my experience, onboarding and getting to know the platform features can be tricky. API dev tools have a lot of bugs. OpenAPI 3 is not yet fully supported.
The IBM API gateway enables secure cloud to on-premises communication, enforces our own security policies and controls access rights for clients. The overall features and capabilities to customize are excellent. However debugging the API gateway can be tricky and overall stability is sometimes an issue.
API Connect provides the most complete feature set out of all the above mentioned
