Overall Satisfaction with Join.me
We use it support our remote staff from an IT help desk and systems perspective. It's easy for both our help desk staff and for our end users. It's also supported cross platform which for us is important as we have desktops, laptops and tablets with any variation of OS on them.
- Desktop and application sharing is excellent.
- File transfer and control provides IT with the access and control from one easy to use console.
- Unattended remote access is a key feature for remote servers that are online but do not have BOVPN access.
- It does drop connections from time to time, but that's the nature of cloud-based remote access services.
- Latency or laggy connections occur, but again, it's expected over public internet.
- Chat is simple and could be a little better with staggered cues.
- Saves a huge amount of time for support staff and end users.
- The product is cost effective and delivers value to support.
- I've used it for personal use and is free for that use and has saved me crazy time, versus having to drive to a friend's house to help with computer issues.
Again, join.me has many of the same issues the TeamViewer or Webex have, such as dropped connections, laggy, jitter, etc. These are expected with over the public internet/cloud services such as these. I think where Join.me is a step above is how easy it is to set up and get a remote client to connect. I've used this anytime I have an ad-hoc request for support and need to quickly remote to the client and help them with simple issues that would otherwise take time to walk them through or get another service to connect.
