Overall Satisfaction with Litmus
Litmus provides a fantastic way to store code snippets, partials, and templates within the system so that email creation is fast and efficient. Once these modules are built out, a non-technical user can log in and start creating as long as they know the basics of HTML and CSS. The system then allows for the email to be rendered using a checklist of email clients, operating systems, and devices to see how it will look in recipients' inboxes. This code can then be easily exported or copied into the HTML editors in any ESP of choice. Some major enterprise ESPs have tried to create this experience but in my time developing emails, Litmus seems to be the best for managing these resources.
- Distinguishes between partials and snippets.
- Template management.
- Ability to see source code from checklist renderings.
- Syntax highlighting in the generated code is often inaccurate.
- Snippet interface is different from the partial interface.
- When inspecting the source code in a client checklist, the preview is still browser based, which is inaccurate.
- Self service email development for non-technical users.
- Time saved in previewing emails.
- Helping tracking tools.
We don't use Litmus metrics.
We lack a formal review process at the team level, but Litmus is essential for review at an individual level when building and proofing.
