Overall Satisfaction with Namely

Namely is used by the entire employee population for onboarding, performance management, benefits, timesheets, payroll, and more.
  • All-in-on platform for all things HR
  • Interface easy to use for employees to get onboarded and update their information
  • Benefits brokerage top notch
  • Siloed organization- when it comes to payroll, timesheets, benefits, etc. you have to know who to speak to or what to speak to them about. If you have an issue connecting timesheets to payroll, it most likely can't be solved by just one conversation or one Namely employee. Also they misrepresented their timesheet system and its technically an entirely different company called TimeclockPlus with a different customer service number.
  • Difficult to get customer service responses- Putting a case online is the best way to receive an answer but urgent issues by phone take way too long.
  • They are not great at telling you what you need to know or what you don't know you need to know. For example, if you don't ask the right questions during implementation or with a customer service issue, it can be costly later on. It's understandable that all their clients will use and build the Namely system in different ways but ultimately, one cannot ask what they don't know to ask or what might be an issue later on.
  • Once the system is built out, saving time on running payroll (unless there is a change or added job code)
As an all in one system, it's okay but again, may not be worth the cost. Have had better customer service at other payroll companies.
Ask a lot of questions and ask them what you need to know that you don't currently know. A lot of issues came up during implementation or later that weren't covered or required an additional cost. When asked about the additional cost or why the issue wasn't brought up earlier, Namely's response was always "well you didn't ask us that." It's very easy to get backtracked because the customer didn't know the right question to ask for a new system they have no experience with.
Well-suited for an all in one platform but it's very costly and may not be worth the cost for a lot of companies.
