Overall Satisfaction with OnPay
Currently, OnPay is used to pay contractors who would be subject to Form 1099-NEC reporting requirements. Originally, OnPay was the solution to the high fees being charged by a CPA firm to handle the organization's payroll for 1-3 employees. In additional to the monthly fees, the CPA firm also charged quarterly and annual fees to file payroll tax returns. The total payroll fees being charged each year were disproportionate to what would be a reasonable charge. This may be because of the small number of employees at the time. OnPay was selected to address the high fees being charged for payroll processing.
- Relatively low payroll costs as there is a base fee plus an additional fee for each person being paid
- The monthly fees pay includes all payroll tax return filings, no additional fees charged later
- Customer support has been responsive though there appears to be cutback in the number of representatives in recent years. Before there was more online chats. Recent there have been more email response
- I would like to enter some payroll information in advance of the current payroll runs
- Adding and changing administrators was a bit cumbersome and took several days
- It works fine for a small number of people being paid if they can be seen on one screen but it might be cumbersome with more than about 10 people. Probably needs a better or different procedure with more people.
- Cut our payroll fees by more than half of what was being paid to CPA firm
- Save time in dealing with CPA firm for payroll returns and filing
- Could easily generate various payroll related reports..even from the past....this was not possible with the CPA firm previously used
