Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

Paylocity assists us in digitizing all our documents, employment history, and keep track of compliant aspects in document acknowledgement/training/pay data reporting/etc.

We heavily utilize it to provide information on benefits/Companywide communication/time off requests/time card approvals/etc. It helps us reach all managers and employees as our Company is spread out nationwide.

Pros

  • Community - this section is like a fb posting/company page. Allows employees to post comments/questions which makes it easy for managers to respond as they can also tag other users.
  • Easy user access for employees - via Mobile access

Cons

  • Consistency - Paylocity, like many other systems, have different platforms under Paylocity. It will be nice if they can make their search/view interfaces all uniform across their entire site.
  • Mobile app has limited capabilities. Hope they will be able to provide more functions in the mobile app.
  • It has proved to be time saving as we did many processes manually.
  • Better decision making due to reporting
It has been positive. However, setting it up/or going the automation direction has proved to also be time consuming as the system doesn't behave the way you want it to. Or there are limitations, so you have to find a work around.
Good, but it is still taking some time for our audience to properly and fully utilize all the functions.

Paychex Flex, CargoWise Customs (BorderWise)
PIP/Corrective Actions - there isn't a tool that will 'track' disciplinary action for employees/provide a full history of their work. There are segments that you can create within paylocity - but the way we want it, Paylocity doesn't provide the capabilities.

Manager terminated - if a manager is terminated, terminated direct employees do not get auto assigned to next level manager.

If an employee is a manager, who has direct employees + is W/C manager - they need to have two separate user log in as Paylocity does not allow them to be a manager + W/C manager.
