Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
We use Paylocity as our main HRIS and Payroll system. We store employee data and files and use it to process approvals for job changes, etc. We track hourly employee time sheets and run Payroll for all W2 employees.
- Alert us of any new state leave requirements and the applicable tax deductions.
- Some customer service reps are incredibly knowledgeable and able to identify and fix issues instantly.
- Paylocity has a lot of different modules that can be used to fit the organization's needs.
- Our experience with reps/Account Managers has been very disappointing. Very little follow-up, unable to answer questions, seemingly uncaring. We've had a few stellar ones - If you find a good one, hold on to them!
- Paylocity generally feels like it's missing the last logical step in functionality. Ex: I can view my security roles, but I cannot edit them myself. So then I have to wait for some team to make a minor change that might take me 6 seconds.
- In my opinion, reporting is fine but not great. Unreliable data from certain modules.
- Everything in Paylocity is based off of the "Next Check Date" instead of the "Effective Date" which is the least logical thing I've ever experienced. It can cause major issues.
- In my opinion, the system is not easy to customize to your organization's needs. There is little logic built in to the system. Ex: HR Actions Approvals - there are limited options for approvals, so we have had to create a workflow process for every single department and have to upkeep that.
- Increased time managing and tracking issues in Paylocity and lack of follow-up from reps.
- Working towards more consistent processes
- Improved integrations with other systems
The very basic automated processes are fine, but that should be the bare minimum expectation of an HRIS. I would like to see a more intuitive system with more automation and logic built in to some of the more nuanced HR processes.
We have not used any of these features. We are a tech company and our employees find the user interface of Paylocity to be a tad lacking. Our employees are used to a certain level of elevated experience and Paylocity does not meet that for them. I would bet that other industries don't have this problem.
