Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity
I manage employee information, process time and payroll. I also update the systems configuration and policies when changes are needed due to change in policy or situation as mandated by my HR Manager. I am responsible for full cycle HR (recruiting, onboarding new hires, terminations). I also process benefits from enrollment, life changes, and terminations.
- Quickly customizable where there are customizable options
- Ease of end user use and navigation
- Ease of searching for information when needing help in system
- Variable calculation in taxes causing ER tax flip flopping during payroll and cannot choose to round up or down, the system just does it. This causes additional time reconciling in payroll and potential extra billing for end user. Client should have option to set variable calculation to always round up or always round down instead of this flip flopping.
- When calling in the account manager is never immediately available. The help you get is fairly mediocre but they are always friendly and really try to help your problem. Sometimes they cause more problems though.
- When the system glitches, it glitches hard. Our schedule template for time and labor was working perfectly except for 1 employee, I call in and they change something, now the template doesn't work for anyone assigned to it. this has been going on two pay periods now.
- We are almost 6 months into the system being implemented. Data for improvement is in process of being gathered. I could answer this question after a year or more as there are still several things missing from implementation and we are now implementing other companies into the company set.
Possibly improve it but I would have to see how the automation, calculation and everything behaves. There also must be a step that involves a human review of the payroll prior to submission just to ensure nothing is missing, such as pay bonus's or other pay that may have been missed being entered.
This will hopefully help boost employee moral and retention by feeling recognized by their company and peers. So far since implementing Paylocity I have noticed about a 2% increase in employees engaging each other on the community page, giving impressions and getting more comfortable with the system.
Against Paycor, Paylocity is a vast improvement in looks, support, functionality and end user ease of use.
Against ADP, it's newer looking and easier to use navigation wise but the calculations and system doesn't run as smoothly as ADP's systems. Dedicated support team of the same 5 people that I could always get in touch with at anytime with ease. Costly though.
Against Oracle, Paylocity has a long way to go. Oracle is better for bigger companies so we could not justify the cost of setting an oracle system in place.
