Overall Satisfaction with Pure Storage FlashArray
The main problem we had was latency based. Pure has taken care of the latency issues. The immense dedup results we have seen have made this a good per usable TB purchase.
- Low latency storage serving
- Deduplication
- Backup license consolidation with CommVault
- It would be nice if there where more network-based services available, for example, NetApp
- K8S integration works but is not as clean as I would like to see it. Setting user limits would be nice, albeit a bit hard.
- Dedup does a really good job, but you pay for what you get, Flash is not cheap currently. It still performed better than expected.
- Pure was very clear with us about the benefits, the product delivered what we were told.
We used to have Violin which definitely is very fast, but it is just not very pleasant to use. The performance was a little better with Violin, but the support and features didn't stack up. We also use Netapp FAS for file shares and non-critical workloads, here Netapp has more features, also very good availability, but it loses in speed and wasn't usable for our latency-sensitive application.
