Overall Satisfaction with QuickBase

We use quickbase to manage repeating process flows across the organization. Quickbase allows us to automate a big section of routine business needs and track approvals and execution times, enhancing accountability. Users appreciate being able to checkup on the status of requests from a browser instead of wasting time going to every individual who might be involved.
  • Quickbase is very useful for rapidly rolling out basic workflows.
  • Quickbase's notification system is very robust and useful. It's the thing that most users "can't live without" in our organization.
  • It's relatively easy to make changes to workflows built in quickbase as needs change.
  • Getting data out of quickbase for custom reporting isn't as easy as it should be.
  • There's no robust ability to generate automatic documentation for Quickbase apps. This is a disappointment coming from other development environments.
  • Changing key users (Application owners for example) isn't as graceful as it could be as people move in and out of the organization.
We have benefitted from the quick development time in getting business process rolled out. For a relatively simple process, the time to "ready" can be measured in days not weeks.
For straightforward data capture (entry) by users and then processing into reporting or workflows, Quickbase can developed by non-technical users fairly easily. However, once one needs multiple tables or cross-app linking it very helpful to have a technical resource to reach out to. Once an application is developed, we haven't found a need a for any real maintenance, only additional development as new user requirements come up.
  • Improving our ability to drive insights from our data
  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
Quickbase is great for setting up simple to moderately complex workflows and project tracking. However for very involved applications, the lack of auto-documentation becomes a headache. It is difficult to pick up an app developed by someone else and discover how it works without physically researching each formula, form rule, dashboard, etc.
