Overall Satisfaction with RainKing (acquired by DiscoverOrg)
RainKing is used to help generate leads. We have a few people (1 to 2) that used it to fill out information in SFDC for targeted prospects. Our primary use was obtaining contact data and propagating the information to SFDC for use by our Sales People.
- Provides names, phone numbers, and email addresses.
- Information is generally accurate.
- Small and medium-sized businesses are underrepresented in their data. For larger businesses, the number of contacts is quite large, requiring lots of effort to make sense of the data.
- The product worked as advertised, and saved us data entry and research effort to get targeted companies into SFDC.
- The termination language in the purchase contract was buried in a Terms and Conditions included by reference as a URL. Every customer should understand the termination provisions. Ours included (https://discoverorg.com/rainking-terms-conditions-2016/) language that DiscoverOrg mandates that we remove all contacts from our databases that we obtained during the term. People should understand that the information service is "licensed" and ownership of the information remains the property of DiscoverOrg. It is expensive and complicated to locate and remove contacts that were obtained through this product. If we had known this in advance, we would not have purchased the product. Other suppliers do not have this egregious termination obligation.
We recently switched to ZoomInfo, which we believe is perfectly equal to RainKing (DiscoverOrg).
