Overall Satisfaction with Redis
We leverage Redis as our L2 centralized cache to hold frequently accessed data such as user ids, account balances, and other metadata. It is used across our entire organization for various software services and projects. For us, the ease of spinning up an instance and having it "Just work!" is what is appealing. We don't have the luxury of hiring Redis administrators, but since our use case isn't too complex, a hosted version works just fine for us. This should speak to the flexible usability with the product.
- It's easy to manage.
- It fits most simple caching use cases.
- Can be clustered.
- Highly configurable.
- Clustering can be easier to set up.
- Sharing data can be challenging.
- Employee cost savings. I didn't have to hire someone to manage our Redis layer because it's simple enough to trust to a SaaS.
- We were able to get to market quickly because of the simplicity and joy it brought to the developers building the stack.
- The default cache choice made has saved us hours of discussion time.

Product usability is by far the top factor for me. As a co-founder of a start-up, I need to make technology decisions that impact many areas of our business, including recruiting.
