Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Sage Intacct is a fantastic tool, the largest problem that I see in using it are the numerous ways it can be used. There are so many plug-ins, 3rd party vendors, and ways to make it your own that it is hard to call it my own. We use Sage mainly for our accounting system, although we utilize other software to maintain our AR. I would love to find easier ways to help consolidate Sage with our other 3rd party vendors to help simplify our workflow.
  • User interface, the system is very easy to learn and use
  • Customization, there are many ways to make the system yours
  • Ability to scale, as the system is cloud based, it is easy to grow and stay updated
  • 3rd party vendors seem overwhelming, need to find vendors who truly "connect" with Intacct, not just are able to import a new file
  • Report writing seems to be a complex task. training is especially needed to learn this
  • Audit trail - I wish it help describe what changes occurred in detail, rather than notify a change [that] happened.
  • Very easy to scale up as we have grown.
  • Difficult to change processes we started at implementation
  • Very user friendly with excel, both as an export and as in import tool
As of now, due to our unique business model, we have not utilized the automation tools within Sage Intacct. While I would love to hear how we could benefit from these functions, I do not believe it would be an available option to us as we have several 3rd party vendors for our AR and revenue cycle. For the AP and cash management, we have been reluctant to use it as we hear there are bugs that cause more issues than what is worth implementing.
We do utilize the multi-entity function within Sage Intacct, the intercompany complexities are handled in a way that makes us not have to think about them. Which is very nice. I think most Accountants would agree that intercompany transactions are a hassle, and to have them be automated is a big time saver.
While I was not around for the initial implementation of Sage Intacct, we are continuously acquiring new locations. Due to the ease of use to add new locations and new [people], we have been able to easily grow our operations. As we have had new locations added, we can configure the new geographic locations to the needed configuration of each area as we need. This allows us to give proper reporting in the areas we need, and share the results with those we should.

I believe Sage Intacct is a much more user-friendly product as a whole. From the ability to configure the application however I think PeopleSoft was a stronger option at my prior workplace. However, we had a significantly larger IT department whose sole task was to work with the system. So this could be a little skewed. Going forward, I will be very excited to see how we can shape Sage to do those same things.

Sage Intacct is perfect for small to mid-sized companies, especially those looking to grow. It has a large [suite] of product options that can relate to almost any situation. I think the largest benefit of Sage Intacct is the user interface which is very easy to learn with its adaptive feel and flow of information. Another benefit is the ability to scale the software as you grow, since the system is cloud-based, the system is able to grow as fast as you are.
