Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

As an accountant I use Sage Intacct to complete banking for the 39 entities that we manage. We review the general ledger and I make adjusting entries as needed. I am able to contact AP through Sage Intacct on the specific invoice when a payment doesn't look correct or if it is coded incorrectly. I can contact AR through Sage Intacct if a cash entry or payroll that has been imported doesn't look correct. The software allows me to import accruals and statistical data as needed.
  • Seamlessly manage multiple different communities
  • Reporting of data inputs
  • accurate banking downloads and matching
  • Allows import of journal entries
  • Allow greater visibility when looking Qtr to Qtr or Yr to Yr
  • Better system for vendor creation and search
  • Allowed us to be more precise
  • Made processes more simple
  • Sped up Month end close dramatically
  • Saved on Overtime hours being worked
I don't know how much AP and AR have benefited from this automation. As an accountant, I have benefited by having monthly entries set to recurring and being able to only have to go change the amounts and dates in the list of recurring entries in order to keep them updated. This keeps our property taxes and insurances current. When transactions are being downloaded, I am able to have entries autocreated based on the vendor.
Multi-entity has been a life saver. In Sage 50 we needed to go from entity to entity logging in and out each time. We would need to download and combine some 39 different GL's. With Sage Intacct we can easily download all of the GL's from the top level of our company. We can make changes to any entry with ease. Payroll just uploads one file with all of the payrolls for the week instead of multiple files.
There was a lot of issues immediately trying to move over information from the old software. Part of it was our fault for changing GL numbers. We also had an issue with an entity being setup with another entities cash account. That caused a multitude of issues. After all entries were created and we had the reports we needed, everything has been smooth and only getting better.

Sage Intacct is very similar to Quickbooks. I do like Sage better because it is easier to navigate and allows for more control when looking at entries. Quickbooks had a better matching system when looking at bank recs. I hate having to flip back and forth between Intacct and bank transactions. In Quickbooks I was able to look at both sides and just check each as I go over it.
SAP looks and feels old, but it has a lot of information and allows Opentext which let us upload invoices individually. The invoices would be read and immediately posted to PO#'s if they existed. I know that Sage Intacct lets us add a file to an entry, but it isn't the same.
I have been more in depth with Sage Intacct reports than I have with Quickbooks and SAP so it is hard for me to compare the three.
Sage Intacct is well suited to handle a company such as ours that manages a multitude of senior living housing for different owners. I have to make bill the individual companies from our company and Sage Intacct allows all of this to be done effortlessly. I can bill multiple entities from the breakdown of charges.
I am able to make changes quickly to journal entries while completing the bank rec that saves time on researching to find the initial entry in the GL. I can make quick changes just by clicking the transaction in question. From bank transactions, I am able to create an entry and the descriptions are already filled in.
When scrubbing to make sure our information we are reporting for month end close is correct, I am able to get a clear overview of what looks correct due to the month over month operational analysis we were able to have created.
