Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA

We use SAP HANA for analytics and reporting. For a past client, we used SLT to load data into SAP for reporting. We used reporting tools like BO and Tableau. It was mainly used to report on sales. In the past, all teams were using their own spreadsheets.
  • Loads data quickly.
  • Fast results for complex queries.
  • User access could be more simplified. There are multiple roles defined in HANA and would be nice to have it tailored to some business roles.
  • Performance tuning could be more simplified.
  • My past customers all achieved significant ROI as they were able to get reports they previously were not able to get in a quick time frame. In the past, multiple reports had to be consolidated to get desired results. With HANA and designed reports based on models developed with HANA modeler we were able to deliver reports and have a single source of truth.
Any issue I have had with HANA I was able to resolve with SAP notes or support. They resolve issues very quickly!

SAP HANA is well suited for scenarios where there is a lot of data. For smaller systems where performance is not an issue, then it is not really required.
