Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It's our ATS, and we also track other talent management data. It also produces and manages both our external and internal career sites, and sends new-hire data to our ERP. Every employee uses it for tracking performance and goals, development plans, and hiring managers use it to manage both internal and external hiring.

Pros and Cons

self management of career site
continuous performance is a nice way to track 1:1 meetings
lots of stuff can be self-serviced (i.e. configuring applicant pipeline)

administrative functions are antiquated and in some cases half-baked
Manage Templates is an ungodly mess
different look/feel/functionality from module to module
lack of flow between modules

Ease of Integration

We've always been able to manage the integrations, but it's never been as easy as partners told us it would be. Never. There's always a quirk with the data or the integration and it always takes 5x as long as we think it will. However, we've always managed to get it working!

SuccessFactors Implementation

Implementation partners are all terrible.

OK, maybe that's an exaggeration. But partners care about getting in and out and getting paid. None of them have provided real future-looking consultation and tough love. All have said "yes" when they should have said "no" to terrible configuration choices that we made because we didn't know any better. My kingdom for a partner with moral courage!

Good if you want to buy the whole kit and kaboodle! There aren't a lot of choices for a large enterprise, and this is a solid one. They have the experience and support structure to support very large customers with critical applications, and that absolutely matters.

If you don't have EC then modules are quite isolated. There isn't a lot of flow or information sharing between them. The look and feel is also very different from module to module. Most modules were grafted on and it shows.

There aren't a lot of players in this category, and SAP SF is a solid choice.
