Overall Satisfaction with ScienceLogic SL1

I was not involved in the Implemntation process to start with, i joined from another company and picked up where the previous person left
ScienceLogic SL1 is used as our Primary Monitoring Platform, this system replaced out dating Nimsoft platform. the system is very flexible and can be tweaked to our needs / customer requestes for the most part.
Both
  • Grouping of Devices for central management
  • communicates with Service Now very well
  • Easily search customers or devices
  • Dashboards could do with being more "out of the box" friendly
  • I constantly switch bewteen the new AP2 and classic view for different functions
  • different user privileges could do with being more generic or simpler

Yes

  • Time saves on adding SNMP devices due to pre-built OIDs
  • Time saved on Collector builds due to a great ISO installer
Nimsoft is a very powerful tool that has been around for years.. ScienceLogic SL1 is able to be tweaked and customised due to python scripting
The fact you are able to spin up some "data collectors" on the VDC / customer environment is great - this means you do not need to logon and install an agent on all the machines
