Overall Satisfaction with Skype for Business (formerly Lync)
Skype [for Business (formerly Lync)] was used in my organization for secure state employee messaging and videos calls. It addressed the need for live instant communication between employees for collaboration and discussion.
- Skype is a great widely used platform quick message platform.
- Office 365 Connected
- Allows Screen Sharing
- Connectivity issues. Frequent Freezing,
- It seems to require a lot of bandwidth. Our computers don't have a lot of RAM.
- Large Files take a very long time to share.
- Quick communication
- Reduction in travel costs
We have switched to Teams, and it does offer a lot more so I think that it was the right choice, but Skype [for Business (formerly Lync)] was a very functional tool. The main issues were the bandwidth issues. The work computers aren't particularly high in RAM or processing speed so it would lag quite a bit. It worked well and was fairly intuitive otherwise.
