Overall Satisfaction with TriNet
We were looking for an all-in payroll and benefits provider that handled all of our payroll, benefits, tax filings, workers compensation, 401k and everything in between so we selected TriNet based on positive reviews we read about online and from former colleagues. We chose their co-employment PEO option as it was a little more expensive but you had everything under one umbrella.
- Everything payroll/HR/and accounting needs on 1 platform.
- Dedicated account manager that you funnel all of your questions/cases/etc. through and not an endless team.
- Employee experience was great and all I had to do is give them TriNet's 800 number to call with their own questions or they could login to their account and use the chat feature.
- Follow up with clients post-exit about outstanding tax returns never filed, etc.
- PEOs don't allow for much flexibility in straying from their process but I felt TriNet had no exceptions to the rules which made it difficult for us to manage some employee situations under their processes.
- There were times when we had issues with our payroll processing and our account manager would forward our case to their own internal support division and sometimes I wouldn't hear back from them. I would have to call over and over to make sure our payroll was going to be processed but was left completely in the dark.
- Positive: Employee Experience (self-service)
- Positive: Ease of use and single point of contact to help me with issues
- Negative: Tax filings post exiting TriNet and not being able to get to someone to help
TriNet worked with our CFO to ensure he had all of the information that was offered by the government programs that we could apply for if our business needed assistance. Their Employee Assistance Program was excellent.

They were about the same. We went with TriNet because of a bad experience I had with Paychex. However, TriNet started off strong and then the service went downhill. Finally, as I wrote, the state setup/final tax filings not being done makes me say I will not go back to Trinet.
