Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

TriNet is a one-stop HR partner and wonderful for companies that do not
want to stand up an in-house HR generalist function. TriNet takes care
of all of the "less fun" aspects of HR, like state registrations and
taxes, managing payroll, handling time off, and benefits. I have saved
so much time and effort by having TriNet manage all of the innards of HR
compliance, and it's even better that they are very responsive. For us
TriNet manages: compliance, new hire onboarding, benefits (insurance and
401K), performance management, expense, and time management. The only
detriment is that they have purchased quite a few of their additional
services (such as performance and expense) and have tacked it onto their
platform, so it is managed by a separate "cloud services" team which
can have a much longer lag time to resolve issues.

Our direct account manager/point of contact is great and her response times are lightning fast. However, the cloud services team is very slow.

Many of our processes are now dictated by how TriNet operates. For example: the information we request from new hires is focused on the information TriNet requests to onboard a new employee.
This is the challenge again with the cloud services products. Some of the functions (like expense and performance management) have to be accessed through my employee portal, and not my admin portal. It would be great to have a central admin portal for all of TriNet, instead of multiple admin locations.
  • When I started at the company, we were less than 10 people. We have now grown to nearly 50 across almost 20 states. TriNet has made it so incredibly easy to bring on new hires in new states without having to fuss with much paperwork.

TriNet is great for companies that do not want to build out a robust internal HR compliance and generalist function. If you already have someone managing state registrations, unemployment, and so on, then TriNet is not the best fit.
