Overall Satisfaction with UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)

We primarily use UKG Pro as our HRIS and payroll system. However, we also use it to administer various HR processes, including performance management and salary planning. This helps HR stay efficient by eliminating the need to administer these processes manually via Excel spreadsheets, etc. The BI system is also used frequently to run reports, etc.

I have also used Oracle HR and ADP. I feel that ADP was a very simple and easy system to use, but it lacked the ability to tailor the system for our organization, and did not offer some of the extra modules UKG provides, such as salary planning. However, I think Oracle HR's reporting system was much easier to use than UKG's BI system. Building/editing reports and locating appropriate fields in UKG can sometimes be tricky.
There are times when UKG runs slow, but this is rare and typically when payroll is processing. Otherwise, the pages load quickly, and complex reports run within 10 seconds.
UKG has an online process for submitting support cases when you have issues. You can log in to view the status of your case, and they also send email updates. However, I sometimes have a hard time viewing/understanding the status. Some cases are resolved in a matter of hours, while it may take days for a representative to respond to a case. This can be frustrating. However, their reps are all very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. And they have a Rapid Response hotline you can call for immediate assistance on urgent items.
Last year we were implementing the Salary Planning module the first time and had many questions. The reps were so helpful and friendly in walking us through the system setup, etc.
UKG Pro has some excellent capabilities in tailoring the system for your specific organization. Their Business Rules functionality offers a wide variety of options for organizational setup, job title/job grades, geo differentials, merit matrixes, etc. The nice thing is that these items all work together. For example, we also utilize their salary planning module, which lets us filter it for the correct eligible population, and the system automatically displays each employee's job title, job grade, and recommended merit increase range based on their current salary, geo differential, and where their salary falls within their existing pay grade. However, we have had some struggles with benefits administration (primarily around the process of auditing annual enrollment benefit selections from our 3rd party after deduction codes/amounts have been loaded to each employee record). The system does not have reporting functionality to pull this data prior to the benefits effective date, so we had to wait until 01/01 to run our audit, which gave us little time to fix any issues prior to our payroll team's deadline for processing the first payroll of the year.
