Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Data Center Backup and Recovery
We are backing up key desktops, Hyper-V Hosts and Virtual Servers across multiple sites. These backup to a local NAS and replicate the data to a central appliance located at Head Office. The Head Office appliance backs up to local storage and then replicates key servers to the cloud for DR. This gives us both quick local recovery if needed and a DR solution.
- Reliability.
- Single pane of glass for management.
- Quick support.
- Updating virtual appliances.
- Updating agents.
- Reporting to GUI when there are issues.
- Reliability - Backups should be set and forget.
- Allowed me to focus on other IT tasks than constantly managing a backup solution.
- Offers a solution for O365 backup also but we have not leveraged this as yet.

- Acronis Cyber Backup and Veeam Backup & Replication
I have not re-visited Unitrends Data Center Backup and Recovery for a few years, so the comparison is hard against current offerings. However, when looking at feature set and price, I believe Unitrends is competitive. Once invested in initial licensing/hardware maintenance is relatively cost-effective.
Unitrends Data Center Backup and Recovery as a cloud backup solution for Cloud services, that although I have not leveraged yet is on the radar for review, it will allow consolidation of all backups that we currently perform.
