Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for AWS
Currently used as a PoC to backup some VMs used to host some applications. This is in used in conjunction with other back-up solutions we already have in place.
- Live recovery.
- Relative ease of use for console.
- Snapshots provided.
- GUI could improve.

Initial analysis has seen that pricing for Veeam compared to other backup solutions is significantly cheaper for our use cases. Compared to other backup productions, Veeam has slightly more features (which we can potentially leverage in the future) and is much easier to use relative to other backup solutions.
Our evaluation and selection process was relatively robust in that we've analyzed the market with their advertised back up solutions through various feedback loops. Any solutions that did not manage to meet our selection criteria or had information which was hard to receive was cut out from the selection process. However, if there was one thing we had to change, we would have loved to bring in an SME on Veeam (and other various products) for a more thorough comparison.

Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled - We have a robust change management process within the organization so what we needed was for Veeam to be well integrated with our current change management process. We are currently exploring the integration of Veeam into our change management process with ServiceNow.

- General layout is easy to understand for non-technical people
- Navigation pane makes it easy to go back and fourth between different infrastructures
- Filtering has been proven useful especially for non-technical people
- Not every function in the application is intuitive
- Some basic things in the GUI are seemingly missing
- Some reporting in the application can be difficult to understand initially
