Overall Satisfaction with Vena Solutions

Vena Solutions is used for all aspects of our budgeting and reforecasting process for the whole organization. It allows common processes across all aspects of the budget process and real-time updates/reporting.
  • Excel-based, so familiar
  • Real-time updates
  • Workflow is not very agile and it is difficult to understand workflow status.
  • Performance response times have been a challenge when working with large volumes of data or a template that contains a lot of Excel formulas.
  • Not all Excel functionality is available to be used (i.e., filters/sorting) and Vena does not provide a delivered Vena alternative.
  • None at this time.
IT support/oversight not needed. Appeared less complicated/more user friendly. Cheaper.
Vena Solutions is well suited with small volumes of data that are not too complicated or smaller companies with less than 30-40 users. Workflows are difficult to manage and the workflow status review page is less than desirable. Access to the status of back end "jobs" (ETL/queries) is limited to admins so contributors do not have any visibility into the status of each job. Jobs run single-threaded, which is not optimal for companies with larger volumes of users.
