Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard AuthPoint

I have a law firm with about 10 remote workers who log into a server using Windows Remote Desktop. We use AuthPoint as 2FA (two factor authentication) for all users, and I additionally use it for my local computer.
  • 2FA works flawlessly.
  • I am not a tech professional, and there is a bit of a learning curve. I did figure it out, but clearer tutorials would help.
  • The "Admin" portion of the program could use a mobile app. It is clunky to try to use on a mobile phone.
  • Positive: Much needed added security and protection (and peace of mind). This at least more or less closes off one main method of attack by bad actors.
  • Duo / Cisco Secure Access and by Duo
I tested Duo and a few others (not full tests, but limited trials), but I thought Authpoint was better implemented and easier to use.
Yes - once implemented, the use is very seamless and requires no general upkeep. It just works well. There is some Admin when you set up new users or have to reissue tokens, and it works well. Again, it could use better tutorials. I have figured it out now, but there was a learning curve. The cloud portion of Administration, though, could use a mobile app.
Very easy to set up and implement. I had 10 users set up their app. I sent a detailed email with screenshots, and we did not have any problems. It went surprisingly smooth. As far as using it on a daily basis, it is nearly flawless and is not an additional burden. It comes as a second nature now. I have not heard a negative word from any users.
Personally, I have not used the secure SSO portion of AuthPoint, and I do not believe any of the end users here have.

Yes

Did WatchGuard AuthPoint live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of WatchGuard AuthPoint go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy WatchGuard AuthPoint again?

Yes

We use this for 2FA to our server. Any user tries to log in, a popup message shows up on their phone, and they can't complete the server log in until they have approved it on their phone. If there are connection issues with the phone, there are additional ways to implement. It even works seamlessly with a local computer. This works very well and I would very much recommend it. Other than the desire for better tutorials for the implementation, I can't knock it at all.
