I have used Workday for HCM, Payroll, Expense, Time tracking and performance. We have used it to deliver employee and manager capabilities that are easy to use and provide actionable data access. I have used it in all cases in hypergrowth companies. This means we are looking for efficiency gains and looking for a scalable solution that is flexible to meet our changing business needs
- The user experience is superior to all others. It is built like all the consumer tools out there, so employees are familiar with the icons and navigation
- Finally a solution that really has reporting that is already built in. There is no need to buy a data warehouse or anything
- Configuring really is simple. you dont need to hire technical people to learn how to configure business processes
- They can improve their performance solutions. performance reviews are done in a very traditional fashion and dont offer some of the new functionality
- The goals module is limited and needs to have more flexibility to be able to align goals and cascade them down the organization
I have been in this business for over 20 years and I am familiar with all HCM solutions. Workday stacks up on top because of its superior user interface. It is easy to use and end users are familiar with the navigation. It is also very easy to configure. Configuring a business process is simple and with some training, you will not need to have technical staff or consultants to make those changes.
