I use 7Sheep for marketing as a sales person. This works well for me as a single user. I do not think I could use the software together with my colleagues. Although we could have separated lists the access rights might not fit our use case. It has a strong marketing focus and cannot replace a full CRM system.

Pega Customer Engagement Suite

PRPC is a BPM and Case management suite from Pega Systems. Pega is a comprehensive suite which offers a unique theme of BPM development in the market. A no-coding approach based on rules with inheritance makes Pega a very powerful product but is very difficult to learn. Even, if we go to Pegasystems for training, we have to work on a project at least for a year to have some confidence. Areas where it requires improvements:1) One of the first things that client's IT department questions about is proprietary BLOB column in PRPC, for them, it is a disadvantage, but as we all know BLOB is what makes the highly complex data model of any BPM application fit inside to a common schema which eliminates the help of a DBA. 2) Another area of improvement is: when using the wizards to generate rules (such as the connector wizards) you have to be careful about the level of coupling between the work object's data model and the interface's data model. This can also create maintenance issues.3) The complete Pega suite of products have a long time to develop and deploy and it can be easily done using other low-cost software.

Pros

  • Sporadic mailings to my clients via the e-mail campaign feature. I create personlised HTML emails with the visual editor and schedule them to be sent during the day when I am on the road.
  • After initial contact with new clients I setup a series of timed emails to stay in contact. Based on flags I have in the system they are automatically adjusted.
  • Existing clients get automated emails after certain events like visits or deliveries.
  • I often get in touch with support to ask for best practice examples and they are always helpful.

Cons

  • I know that they are working on a simpler way to send a test e-mail to yourself. This will streamline my activities as well and I look forward to that system change (which was suggested by a client. I have also suggested improvements which have been implemented.)
  • I miss an easy unsubscribe feature (like you get in MailChimp). Overall, 7Sheep's system is more flexible (good) but that does make it more complex to split up (not so good).
  • Setting up the SPF record in our DNS system was flexible and easy but for DKIM integration we had to contact the 7Sheep support. They do not check or show the necessary records in the tool. Customer service was great, though, so not a very big problem, just a bit of a nuisance.
