Pros

They have incredible customer service. There is a chat option right in your account, they are quick to reply, and always so kind and patient.
The whole system is so user friendly. Campaigns/emails are easy to write and design, and segments and tags are easy to manage.
I can also create incredibly good looking lead pages right in my account. They are quick to make because AC's templates are all really wonderful. Saves me a lot of time!

Cons

I wish that I could use my own IP and a third party tool like SendGrid to manage deliverability
Some of the contact search capabilities are lacking
Ability to add additional users for a small fee would be preferable to needing to upgrade for a substantial monthly additional fee

Broad capabilities - ability to create individual emails to specific segments (the right people) at the right time (predictive sending for the greatest likelihood of conversion) and automated flows so that our clients are generating revenue
Integrations - We run ads for our clients, and ActiveCampaign automatically creates dynamic audiences for our social media platforms so that our ads are going to audiences that have just opened or clicked emails (or that follows up with people who haven't engaged). The number of programs that ActiveCampaign connects to makes the marketing a seamless experience for our clients.
Visualization of data - With the flow builder, you can see where people are in the process, what tags are being applied overall - makes it so much easier to create email marketing solutions for clients.

Very easy to use. I only give it a 9 instead of 10 because it would be best if you have some marketing knowledge before you start using it. Even if it's just a basic understanding of terms and best practices. However, the chat support is great and they even offered to send me videos of them doing what I needed help with.

Reliability and Availability

I've never had ActiveCampaign down for maintenance. I'm sure they update things, but they always seem to manage to stay live. Also, I've had very few errors, if any. None come to mind. This might be to due to the fact I focus on building things as simply as possible, but I also believe it's due to the quality of the software.

ActiveCampaign works seamlessly with the other tools I use. It integrates directly with most. And if no direct integration is available, there is almost always one you can make using Zapier. I've yet to run into a technical error that prevented me from doing something I wanted to be able to do.

Alternatives Considered

I've used many ESP and CRM software that TrustRadius does not have listed (such as Kartra, ConvertKit, etc.). ActiveCampaign beats all of this in price, user-friendly implementation, ability to easily create complex subscriber-responsive campaigns/automation, and more.

I've tried several of the email services available today. ActiveCampaign makes it easy and fast to get set up. And they have some of the best email deliverability available today as well. That's really important when it comes to email marketing, because winding up in spam or promotion folders makes your email marketing efforts and uphill battle.

Return on Investment

The ROI has been in my time. Its pretty easy to use and setup.
The live chat support is really helpful. The support staff seem to be really good. They quite often send short video screen recordings to show me how to do something.
