Neolane is the solution for those who are looking for a complete email and automation solution that's able to also integrate social and mobile. During the selection process it's key to know your own objectives and what you want from your system and which features are the most important to your business.

Pardot

Pardot is a very effective marketing automation system for businesses who run on Salesforce. It has greatly impacted how our business views, manages, qualifies and moves leads through the lead funnel. The system syncs seamlessly with Salesforce and it creates a better understanding of how effective marketing campaigns are. Creating the marketing collateral in Pardot is simple, easy and effective. It has decreased the amount of time I used to spend creating and managing automated marketing campaigns, to shifting my efforts into understanding how the campaigns worked and testing multiple campaigns at one time. My favorite aspect about Pardot was the 6 week on-boarding process and the ongoing support. They truly make you feel that they care about your needs, your success and what can be improved in their product.

Overall, the product is very easy to use with a modern, intuitive user interface. There are still a couple of areas where they could improve usability, i.e. email templates/sends (previously mentioned), and the layout templates can be a bit confusing to work with, particularly if you do not code HTML.

There have been a couple of service incidents over the past few months. I'm not sure if it has to do with Pardot integrating their infrastructure with ExactTarget. However, they responded well with proactive communication and a debrief as to what happened.

I would say that generally the knowledge of the support team we work with is good, great even.I can't say that they seem to be very interested or involved in trying to make the product work best for us.They do what needs to be done, and they do it well - but not really going the extra mile.

This is where Pardot really shines. From your initial sales experience to the implementation specialists and technical support, Pardot delivers. I have dealt with a number of Pardashians through my consulting work and every one of them was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and easy to work with.

The trainers at the Pardot user conference (Elevate and Connections) were very knowledgeable and presented the material well. Again, the content was targeted to more of a new user audience, and was not really relevant for folks who had been using the product for 2+ years.

Pardot's online training touches on all topics briefly and vaguely without much indepth exploration into how a final outcome could look, such as Nurturing Campaigns, Email templates, landing page templates, etc...The only true way to uncover Pardot's full capabilities is to have Front End design and coding experience. Without this key skill set, I would not recommend Pardot to another business.

We were able to implement ourselves in 30 days, which included a migration from Loopfuse. The process was very straightforward and Pardot provides good documentation using Basecamp during the implementation phase. Your Pardot implementation specialist is a resource available during your 60 day implementation phase and you can ask any and all questions.

I used ExactTarget in a company that had a large B2C focus, as well as a B2B. If sending large volumes of emails to consumers, ET is the solution of choice. Pardot is a better fit if you're looking at smaller volumes and if you need interaction with the sales team based on prospect actions. Pardot enables marketing - sales communications.

  • New intelligence allowing us to increase conversion in the shop.

  • Sales effectiveness - more time selling instead of managing communications. Pardot can send emails that look like they came from the reps.
  • Shorten sales cycle - better-qualified leads. The ability to decide when to send a lead to sales based on a score (or grade) means that we can send them engaged prospects rather than cold prospects.
  • Smarter cold calling - know businesses that visited site.
  • A more streamlined marketing process. The integration between salesforce, landing pages, emails, AdWords is a dream when it comes to managing and reporting on campaign effectiveness.
