Adobe Connect

If communicating with 30-90 agents in the virtual world, Adobe Connect definitely allows for the communication in a simplified environment. For example, f you have 30 agents taking calls, this program offers a way for agents to communicate. If questions are needed answered, the hosts have the ability to pose those questions and get answers from the group. In a smaller group, this may be a bit of overkill and may not be needed. Large groups of 75-100 would create and environment that is less appropriate as there are to many people asking questions and not receiving answers. This amount of people in one room may get lost in the confusion.

ClickMeeting

ClickMeeting is perfect for businesses that wish to communicate visually and verbally without borders. Virtual meetings are becoming more commonplace, and it's important that the software continues to evolve with the every expanding needs in the private and public sector. I feel that ClickMeeting can not only be used in business, but also within an educational institution

Pros

  • Immediate communication within a secure environment between the host, or hosts, and attendees is a major benefit of Adobe Connect.
  • The ability to screen share is second to none and can be done immediately in the current session, or if the host pulls an attendee, or attendees, to a Break Out.
  • File sharing when those important files come through that require notification to a group as a whole is also something Adobe Connect does well.
  • Finally, the ability to post polls, create a white board for interaction with employees, and other items are just some of the benefits of Adobe Connect

  • Previously, my company relied on PowerPoint slides to display company-based statistics and information. Then, following the meeting, these slides would have to be emailed to those who participated. Now, with ClickMeeting, the individual may chose to save the meeting as it is progressing.
  • ClickMeeting allows for not only verbal and visual interaction, but also a chat-based textual interaction - all simultaneously.
  • Most meetings involve management plus lower-level employees. ClickMeeting allows management to privately chat during the meeting without involving different departments or individuals that may or may not need to be privy of the information management is discussing. All the while, the meeting may continue uninterrupted.

Cons

  • The one major issue I have experienced with Adobe Connect is the lag or "boot" when there are too many people present. When attendees reached the maximum amount, I see a huge lag when moving to a Break Out, an unresponsive or frozen room, or one may get what we term "booted". This is very frustrating for employees when time is of the essence.Opening up the parameters a bit on attendees to prevent these issues would be greatly appreciated.
  • Color. Color. Color. Although you are in a working environment, color is appreciate, but limited when creating pods to discuss or post items. The background is very drab and has no "pop" to it. Employees may see items differently if the pods background was something other than gray.
  • Videos. Videos tend to have a lag as well when doing real-time face to face discussion. There seems to be a pixelation issue that has been occurring for years now when viewing videos.

  • Individual Audio Controls. I'd love to be able to adjust the audio for each of the presenters within the platform, as the host. Not all presenters are tech savvy and sometimes don't know how to adjust this themselves.
  • Additional Saved Color Schemes. I'd love to be able to create/save multiple custom color schemes that I can use for various events instead of a single one.

Adobe Connect has been instrumental in developing stronger connections in our classrooms (virtually and residentially), to our faculty across all campuses, and to all departments. It provides leadership the ability to share real-time information, documents, visions and plans and problem solve as a team. The ability to have most of the functionality of a full LMS at a fraction of the cost is huge. I can create manage and deploy both synchronous and asynchronous training based on the situation and all of my training is tracked through a series of easily created reports

Implementation

Adobe Connect7.9
Based on 4 answers
Prices do not seem to vary much among resellers of the Adobe Connect hosted license; the only price variation you're likely to find are among the audio providers. When implementing, you may also wish to look into expanding the amount of storage you are allowed on the server to avoid any problems later on as your library of files starts to build up

Alternatives Considered

Engaging sessions:If you are looking for an engaging session with loads of interactions and use of features. GoToMeeting/Webinar doesn't cut it as it lacks features, ClickMeeting is a great alternative, WebinarGeek can definitely hold up by is limited to the Dutch language for now. Sales meeting with potential client:GoToMeeting is our preferred choice as it is very easy to connect, conduct the presentation, and engage in conversation. The only drawback is that you have to download and install a program, where AdobeConnect is now turning to a cloud based system (was set for release when watching a release webinar).Statistics and Customisation:ClickMeeting is by far the most flexible in terms of providing statistics on users and production of a report on the event. It can also be tailored to be branded with a small fee. Price:WebinarGeeks is the tool that provides best value for money. The testing was a little more cumbersome due to my lack of Dutch; where a colleague had to help me a lot. ClickMeeting would be the second choice for price.

ClickMeeting is far more simple to use than WebEx. WebEx has small inconveniences such as, if a person is "late" to the meeting, the meeting actually disappears in their "Meetings List" - thus the individual must be in possession of the meeting number and join manually. Also, WebEx is not supported across all platforms and devices (such as a ChromeBook/Chrome OS). Thus, ClickMeeting better serves our particular needs as a company

Return on Investment

  • Adobe Connect has allowed us to deliver our course material synchronously online internationally. This capability has increased our reach and sell our product to customers who would otherwise be unable to attend our courses in person.

  • ClickMeeting has allowed my clients to implement weekly educational webinar events to their memberships, which have been unanimously ranked as the top member benefit and continue to be a basis for member growth.
  • ClickMeeting has allowed me, as a business, to engage new clients with live development demos that have helped to influence purchasing decisions.
