Bloomfire

Whenever someone has information that they need to organize and relay to coworkers who do not work right along side of each other. For example, some coworkers work from home and some worker collaborate on items while in a different state. Certain jobs have continuous tasks and having documents where someone details how to make the task more efficient would be helpful for another worker doing similar tasks

Bloomfire

  • Search capability - It is very easy to look up what you are thinking about/trying to figure out in Bloomfire. You can search something with however you want to word it and you will likely find the most relevant post quickly.
  • Interaction with coworkers - Looking up articles from a colleague is extremely easily done. You can look up someone you know is an expert on some realm within your organization and scroll through their posts.
  • Navigation - Scrolling through posts to find information is very user-friendly.
  • Customization - Our organization was able to call the site "Atlas", where we customized the visual appeal and links to various areas of interest relevant to our organization.

Bloomfire

  • Search was awful.
  • If you were not subscribed to a given group, a link (provided by someone else) to content in that group would not work.
  • Information Organization was very basic and could have been more useful.
  • It was not easy to find answers to questions that may have been asked before, so the same questions were asked again and again because it was too difficult to find previous answers.
  • If you subcribed to multiple groups and chose to have updates emailed, your email became overwhelmed and the information being sent was not useful.
  • Inability to organize bookmarks into something more useful than a big list.

Bloomfire is an easy-to-use platform for posting information and asking questions of my peers. It also has a user-friendly search capability. Yet like any other CMS, the secret to success rests in such items as the ability to use metadata to tag content or posts, and Bloomfire provides a wide range of options to make posting content and subsequently searching for it.

I have not needed to pose questions to the support team yet, as it is a very simple piece of software to use, however, its help documents and the bot ready to answer questions let me know I am in good hands. The help center could load a little quicker, but that's my only complaint.

Bloomfire

I did not like SharePoint and I'm pretty sure that most people in my department never used it except to check for schedules. It was so clunky, not aesthetically pleasing, and not streamlined with filters and search. There's no problems like this when using Bloomfire. Everything works as you'd want it to
