Chose Figma
Figma has an overall better user experience, an advanced organization tool, better commentary system. And regarding prototyping, Miro doesn't stand a chance.
Chose Figma
I was not the one who selected Figma and it is certainly missing some features of photoshop that I'd like to have but its a great all in one software for design and collaboration and its very easy to learn and get new members on board.
Chose Figma
They are used for different things so they don't really stack up against each other. I know there is FigJam, but we are not using it within the team. For workshops and discussions we use Miro as a tool, but all the design tasks are carried out within Figma. We mostly use Figma …
Chose Figma
InVision was the dominant product (not that long ago, about 6-8 years) before Figma came on the scene. The ability to easily share Figma designs via link to colleagues who did not yet have Figma accounts was a key unlock that allowed it to quickly grow, because the more people …
Chose Figma
For me, Figma allows me to design things much better than Miro. I do like how Miro has some great stickers, which Figma does not have.
Chose Figma
We still use Axure for rich prototyping as it allows complex logic and states that are tricky to implement in Figma. Figma beats Axure as it is a great for collaboration across large teams of designs and developers. Reviews are quick and FigJam boards have a great 'follow' …
Chose Figma
It is easier to use and more accessible without paying thousands of dollars for a subscription service.
Chose Figma
I still use Miro for some workshops, as it is more user-friendly.
Chose Figma
Figma is better for mockups and prototyping
I prefer the other apps for flow diagrams as they are more intuitive, and people in my organization do not all have access to Figma so i often have to use those (due to cost of licensing)
Chose Figma
Figma is a great tool to get user flow depicted clearly which helps a lot in brainstorming sessions.
Also, maintaining different versions along with annotations is a great value addition to the overall design.
Option to present directly from figma is a great plus to stakeholders …
Chose Figma
The detailing and extent of designs that are possible in Figma are unparalleled. Screen mirroring is one of the most used features as the others do not offer this. In terms of load time, responsiveness, lag etc. there is a marginal improvement. Figma works better even when the …
Chose Figma
It's been at least a couple years since I used Sketch. It used to be my go to, but then there was a sudden shift towards Figma, and Sketch become obsolete. I was initially less drawn to Figma as it introduced a learning curve I wasn't ready to add to my workflow. I remember the …
Chose Figma
Figma is easy to start and not complicated, even for entry-level designers. Its price is also cheap compared to Adobe.
Chose Figma
Figma was far superior to Adobe PhotoShop, considering PS wasn't designer for web but a photo editing tool.

I moved from Photoshop to Sketch a good 8 years ago, and that tranisition was eye opening that we could have a web/app specific tool. The change from Sketch to Figma was …
Chose Figma
Figma is more easy to use and most designers are well versed in figma because of how widespread its usage is. The price point is also better than that of most competitors and it’s good value for money for big teams that need realtime collaboration
Chose Figma
For creating website wireframes, Figma is the perfect balance between ease of use and product functionality.

Canva is easy to use but it doesn't offer the flexibility that Figma does when it comes to design.
Chose Figma
web based - both Mac and Win - fast and syncd - easy to use - ease of documentation
Chose Figma
Framer is making solid strides in its own world and is a great alternative to Figma. Sketch was a favorite of mine but it made it difficult to collaborate. Also, Figma's features are years ahead of what Sketch can do. Any time I have to work on Adobe XD for a client project, I …
Chose Figma
Figma is easier to use and has more intuitive UI. It is easier to share and it is free to use.
Chose Figma
What Figma does best above its competitors is allow collaboration without compromising design capabilities. The interface is incredibly intuitive and user-friendly, which made a big difference to us as not everyone on our team has the same skillset and design familiarity. …
Chose Figma
Figma has a cleaner overall feel and design with a greater ability to create something as close to the final product as possible, while also being able to easily export and share with all necessary stakeholders. The detail and accuracy a designer is able to apply through Figma …
Chose Figma
Figma let's you do almost everything the others let you do together, so instead of using 4 different softwares, you just use figma.

Figma
It is well suited bc it fits my workflow great. Pages are extremely useful bc I have a section from early explorations to the final handoff. Developers sometimes still find it difficult to work in. Or perhaps they just aren't familiar with it yet. Sometimes, they find Miro easier to use if they are building things and doing exercises.

Pros
Figma
  • As a visual designer, I spend 90% of my working time in Figma. So, as a design tool, Figma is mature and feature-rich. It covers all the basic needs and provides extras, such as simple prototyping and the ability to use external plugins.
  • Collaboration: It’s very easy to work together on the same file in Figma. You can easily brainstorm together or use Figma as a shared screen.
  • Smartness of components: Figma provides many adaptability options for components that allow building very flexible and scalable layouts.

Cons
Figma
  • Overrides are a pain especially as they tie to a component library. Some updates clear overrides to text fields creating extra work.
  • Integration with Jira and Storybook could be better. It's key to a well rounded interconnected workflow.
  • When new features are released, it's increasingly harder to update files and large libraries as the process is time consuming. One reason we haven't fully invested in working with variables.

Usability
Figma
It's so simple to use! I have no background in UI design but basic designing and I was able to learn this software Figma within 3-5 days. There are tons of tutorials available on Youtube from so many popular YouTubers in the space, you can just go through them and start designing.

Support Rating
Figma
I haven't used their support lately but in the past, they had a chat that I used often. They often responded in a few hours and were able to give a satisfactory solution. I would imagine it's less personal now but the community has expanded drastically so there are more resources out there to self serve with a bit of Google magic.

Alternatives Considered
Figma
At the time of evaluating between using Figma and Axure, circa 2019, Figma felt much more lightweight and fluid as compared to Axure. This quality allowed for quicker iteration. Another reason I chose Figma was the community. Figma was widely adopted by professionals in my role which to me meant that the application had a brighter future and was best catered to my uses.

Return on Investment
Figma
  • Negative -- the Figma mirror app is quite poorly connected with Figma itself, hence when we were conducting user testing, we got some incorrect data.
  • Positive -- time spent for discussion because we have something visual to base on discussion on
  • Negative -- it's difficult to find files and comments, which is a lost of time
