DocuSign also has a super intuitive user interface that guides readers to places on the document selected by the sender. Usually, this includes signature fields and agency information, but you can choose which fields the signer can jump to. You can also reuse these quick scroll points in multiple documents, or change them up as you see fit.


Users also like DocuSign because of how easy it is to access from virtually anywhere. The platform is mobile responsive and adaptable. It adjusts documents for SMS, tablets, and mobile devices (using the DocuSign Mobile App). Your sent files will be accessible across multiple platforms, allowing your clients the convenience to sign faster. DocuSign even includes activity notifications, making it great for real-time audit trails.

Data safety is a major concern for DocuSign, so they take many steps to protect sensitive information. DocuSign supports HIPAA, FERPA, GDPR, and CCPA standards, among others, by using authentication tools and secure encryption to comply with common data security and safety standards.


They also have unique packages for real estate agents. Their Real Estate plans include services and products to help with everyday tasks. This includes reusable templates for lease agreements or contractor service agreements. They also have templates for frequently-used bank forms, common pricing, and commission guides.


Real Estate subscriptions have specialized tools for remote notary services. This subscription includes secure digital workspaces shared between buyers, sellers, agents, and other officials. Finally, there is a special tier for members of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) that include bonus tools, services, and discounts.

How Much does DocuSign Cost?

DocuSign Pricing offers monthly and annual plans. Monthly plans may be better for users who only need DocuSign for up to 7 or 8 months. However, annual plans are less expensive for long-term needs.

DocuSign’s Personal plan may be best for independent contractors and solo workers. Although it only covers one user and five documents a month, it does allow that user to store and share files. It does include DocuSign’s free eSignature collection service and document guiding features, so the personal plan can meet your needs if you only need a way to have contracts signed and collected.


Small businesses or independent contractors who complete multiple short-term jobs may find the Standard plan more agreeable. This plan lifts the restriction on the number of documents per month and opens up complex document sharing features.

DocuSign for Real Estate packages differ mostly on the way documents and other assets can be shared. The Real Estate and DocuSign for REALTORS packages are the same in terms of the features they offer. However, only active NAR members can purchase DocuSign for REALTORS, which includes a discount on the package and NAR-endorsed assets to include in documents.


While there are no free plans, a DocuSign account is free if it’s only used to eSign, so you don't worry about your clients paying to access your documents.


The Enhanced plans let you create a package and price plan to fit the needs of your business. These are unique enterprise plans to meet the needs of larger businesses. DocuSign will also help you create custom integrations for Salesforce, Google Drive, Adobe Sign, and more at this pricing level.

What are Alternatives to DocuSign?

One of DocuSign’s most popular competitors is PandaDoc. PandaDoc and DocuSign offer an incredibly similar base set of features. This includes capabilities like sending documents for eSignatures and allowing signers to read and sign documents free of charge.



PandaDoc is a signature software and document management platform. Like DocuSign, it also complies with federal and industry data sensitivity and protection standards such as HIPAA and FERPA. PandaDoc can also guide users to important document sections and use previously-submitted information for quick document completion.
