Overall Satisfaction with 8x8 X Series (Formerly Virtual Office)

It is integrated into each phone (extension) at each user's desk and computer. It is not really being actively used, as our phone use is not really that busy. As the Office Manager, I am really the only one who keeps it open on my computer but even so, I don't use it much. It is helpful in that it is another alert source for missed calls, voicemails and faxes. It does not address any business problems for us as we do not seem to have any that it really needs to address. I believe our setup is not properly tuned to our activity, and we will likely be canceling the Virtual Office portion of our account on all but maybe one or two of our 9 phones.
  • It shows all call numbers coming in.
  • Provides alerts on the computer desktop when calls are coming in or are missed.
  • It gives direct computer desktop access to check on missed calls or voicemails or faxes.
  • Using fax would be great.
  • None really, other than to be relatively costly since we do not really need it (we will most likely be discontinuing it).
We have not compared them, since do not seem to need this kind of service.
It was good to have online instructions and articles to use when troubleshooting, but that only helps to a point. I am sure if I had the time to request full support help from the Support Department, it would have likely been a very positive experience. However, since I have not had the time to use the support that completely, I really cannot judge.

It depends on the type of business and how busy the phones are; for an office like ours, I would not recommend it. For a staffing or sales office with lots of calls in and out and multiple phone users, I would definitely recommend it, and I would recommend getting thoroughly trained on how to use it effectively.
