Use Cases and Deployment Scope

MLS Soccer uses the Absorb LMS for multiple departments within our organization including MLS Next Pro and the EFCL. Our primary focus with Absorb is employee, coach, and player compliance training.

Pros and Cons

Customer support
Ability to duplicate templates to allow for quickly building out content

Updated front-end, looks a bit outdated and at times too simplistic
The backend is a bit clunky at times
Adding admin roles and rules for departments is not that intuitive

Return on Investment

A general increase in interest of using an LMS system for multiple types of departments within our ecosystem
Improved reporting/compliance for our players

Tamar in particular has been very helpful walking myself and my counterparts through general functionality in the system. We have done many training sessions to get everyone on-board with process which proved to initially be difficult as we weren't used to using an LMS at scale. Tamar has helped us work through this multiple times.

LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com)

Different scenario as I used LinkedIn Learning primarily for personal career growth. Not for the same use case as MLS

Well suited for being able to upload and create courses with ease for users. In the same sense, it does require a lot of training to get the best out of the system as some of the prompts/user admin experience is not simple to understand at times.
