Overall Satisfaction with Acumatica
We're a sales organization and we are using Acumatica for all of our sales order processing, shipping and warehouse operations, and financials. It is our "one source resource" for conducting our business (our overall business software).
- I really don't know yet. We've had so many problems since implementation. It's hard to say what it really does well.
- We're really having a difficult time with taxes and tax calculations. Acumatica is charging taxes for items and customers that shouldn't be taxed - even though we have them set as non-taxable. We're also having trouble with tax reporting, specifically in our state, as we are required to report by county and Acumatica does not have an avenue for that. Our value-added reseller-partner created a workaround using a pivot table, which Acumatica does support, so Acumatica somewhat works for us. But not the way we need it to (yet). So that's been a real problem. Combine these two issues (the taxes we charge customers and the reporting of taxes) and that's a problem. Especially because that's never occurred for us before. We built our company on servicing customers, so this is a BIG deal, and our customers are very unhappy at the moment.
- So far? It's had a negative effect on our ROI because it's an extremely expensive system and we're having a hard time getting it to function in all areas of the company. And we're a very small company, so we thought this would go a whole lot faster. The transition and errors we are experiencing have affected our customers with taxes and discounts (and not applying tax-exempt codes when they're entered) and other such basic financial functions. So far, we've had some really negative challenges, but we're optimistic that these will get worked out in the near future and we will realize an ROI (ROVI - return on VERY LARGE investment).
Other
It hasn't yet. We're still working to, at this point, not to blame Acumatica for any of this or put it on Acumatica, we need to adjust some of our business processes. That's internal. No ERP system is going to fix business process problems. And while I don't expect Acumatica to fix process problems, I do expect the functionality to be an improvement from our previous ERP system and I have glimpses of the potential of how Acumatica can work for us. Once we iron out our business processes, I'm confident that Acumatica is the right product for us.
I can't really speak to that as it hasn't helped us as yet. Once again, it looks to me like the distribution package has potential to help us. I like to be optimistic that Acumatica will work well for us and help us to improve operations in the near future. Here's to hoping that 2024 proves me to be prophetic and correct. :)
From what I have learned so far but have yet to
experience is that Acumatica seems to be more technologically advanced than NetSuite
and our previous ERP system (Southware) with much more capability. Acumatica is
customer driven, scalable, and helps its customers grow by keeping up with
industry trends and incorporating modern ideas into the product.
These observations are all knowledge-based from
presentations I have seen which lead me to believe Acumatica will outperform
either of the two systems I mentioned.
With NetSuite specifically, a business needs to
adapt to their system design. With Acumatica, the system adapts to the business
and does this across industries and market sectors.
