Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense

I use AlphaSense to keep on top of competitive intelligence and industry updates. I get daily alerts on specific competitor companies and products, commentary and sentiment on my own company and our products, as well as topics of interest. I've used this for multiple programs and products simultaneously, and AlphaSense allows me to get important news in real time for distribution to my company.

Pros

  • Boolean and keyword search
  • Comprehensive source search

  • AI-powered search
  • Exporting of numerical data such as forecast models in Excel format

Cons

  • Repeat/duplicate alerts (same alert via different searches) - I would like to see them combined.
  • Clinical trial alerts - more clarity on what the specific changes are (currently I have to go into the record change history to see what was changed).
  • Allowed us to gain deeper and more comprehensive competitive insights, especially with the broader content sources.
  • Efficiency has improved with alerts collating important news sent to my inbox.
  • Increased confidence that we are not missing anything important in our topics of interest.
The ability to sort by date and relevance while looking at keywords is unparalleled to any platforms I've used, and I am a prolific Google search user. The only thing that AlphaSense doesn't have is an image search function, but other than that I find it quite straightforward. Any questions I have are easily answered by customer service representatives.
AlphaSense has been extremely impactful in allowing us to get data in real-time, as long as I can set aside time to review all the alerts as they come in. As a result, the team is very aware of movements by companies and products in our markets of interest.

AlphaSense is really great for secondary market research, competitive intelligence, and industry news. Their customer service is really helpful in walking through how to set up searches and alerts, and it's quite powerful. It's my first stop when learning about a new space or trying to understand the sentiment around a product or company. It's also a great value relative to other databases in the biotech space.
