Overall Satisfaction with Appian

Appian is very reactive. But when problems are hard, every time we find a solution alone. I think that Appian needs to progress with client interaction.
Appian is used to automate business process around gas metering and connection to the gas network, when we have new customers who want gas and call GRDF. The whole organization is using Appian but only employees. We have no customers using Appian. Currently we don't use Appian for HR or purchasing process but we have some opportunity to work on purchasing process.
  • Using a basket of tasks for user. It's clear for work day to day, just choosing task to complete, one after one.
  • Follow-up on tasks. Every user says that it's a revolution to have detail about our tasks and they can know where there are tasks.
  • Appian is in the middle of our IT architecture. But Appian does not have enough capacity for connection and it's too hard to develop some web services.
  • Appian must be easier to use like an exchange bus.
  • The user experience is poor. Appian UI is not flexible enough. We can not customize the different screens correctly.
  • Currently we have no negative impact. We have a better follow-up on our tasks and we believe that tasks are completed faster.
  • However we don't finish every project and we can't realy calculate our ROI. It's hard to give you some numbers.
The best use of Appian is with a small application, with tasks and no connection with the other IT applications. Appian is very good in a stand alone situation.
