Our organization is actively involved in multiple Avalara
products. Avatax allows us to monitor individual
transactions. Avalara does our sales tax
reports to multiple states within various jurisdictions. ECM stores and keeps
track our customer’s tax exemption certificates. Their tax research product provides volumes
of tax related answers to many of our basic tax questions. To quantify exactly how much time Alavara has

- With Wayfair, our tax obligation increased 300% and still growing. Avalara was an extremely valuable resource in helping us manage those requirements.

As stated before, we use multiple Avalara products. We use Avalara Returns, CertCapture which is now known as ECM. We also use Avalara's Tax Research tool formally known as TTR. All of these products have greatly benefited our organization from saving us time doing returns to answering our basic tax questions to reaching out to customers for their updated tax exemption certificates.
The initial reasoning behind making the switch from the Wolters Kluwer product to Avalara were two-fold. First, we were migrating to a new ERP system and felt more was needed from our tax software. Secondly, it was the due to the DOR in the state of TN. The current tax software at the time could not meet TN requirements to calculate sales tax for their origin-based tax system.
