A solid platform with great tools, slightly let down by a clunky UX
Overall Satisfaction with Barracuda Security Awareness Training (formerly Barracuda Phishline)
We use this to help train our users about phishing and other forms of email attacks, as well as the general risks of cybercrime. This helps to strengthen the last line of defense - the human behind the keyboard. The tool also allows us to test our endpoint protection products using the collection of file-based attacks.
Pros
- USB key attack testing
- Training and reporting
- SMS attack testing
Cons
- The interface is very dated and cumbersome
- Setup was not as simple as it should have been
- Some of the training that is supplied has a thick American accent which puts users off
- SMS and call training
- Reporting on failures - including how far the fake attack got
- Single Sign of via Azure AD
- In built and included free training for users
- This tool was supplied free with out Email Security, so its come at no cost
- This tool has helped us meet requirements by our insurance to train users on the risks of phishing
- However, the dated interface slows down what should be seamless adoption
- Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
365 defender has a tool for user security training, it is much more rudimentary than Barracudas, but the interface is much nicer. Both offer email attack testing, reporting, and training, but barracuda offers additional attack types, like file and SMS testing. Both seem to come free with other software and can be brought as add-ons.
