Overall Satisfaction with Braze

We use Braze for our customer communications, from campaign emails and push notifications, to automated journeys that offer clear and timely information on sometimes complex programs. Braze offers us a way of easily segmenting customers and offering personalization to give us the best chance at producing revenue as well as providing customers with the best user experience.

  • Reporting is fairly basic, and requires extra work to build more complex reports.

It's very simple to set up Braze with new API integrations to our internal systems which makes the sharing of data and the triggering of comms very straightforward. We also utilize custom events to trigger certain customer actions, so that we can trigger real-time comms - which is very simple to set up and execute.
Being able to create customer journeys that have cross-channel functionality has been a real game-changer. It allows us to ensure that we're meeting the customer where they most want to be contacted, and improving the overall engagement with the campaigns. Different markets in our business also have different data needs, and Braze is flexible enough to allow us to utilize different data integrations that best suit each market. Finally, the use of segmentation and personalization have really allowed us to make our communications the most relevant for the customer.
Compared to Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Braze is much more user friendly, flexible and provides for easier segmentation and personalization. The reporting in Braze is also much easier to use. Compared to Marketo, Braze has a better UI and UX, and an easier learning curve for new users. The set up and maintenance of customer journeys is much easier. The only thing I miss from Marketo is the ability to view the customer log, which allows you to see the automation that happens against each user profile, allowing for easier troubleshooting.

Very well suited to building customer journeys, you can build out things that are very complex quite easily. Also very well suited to personalization - Braze uses liquid, which is fairly easy to learn and can be used in lots of different ways. I would say Braze is less suited for businesses that want very complex reporting right out of the box.
