Overall Satisfaction with Camtasia
The ability to quickly create high-quality content has been outstanding! Not only have I been able to use this software to create e-Learning courses and videos, I have also been able to use it to create marketing type videos to use in presentations! The best part is I own this software! The cost of this software is very small compared to other authoring tools and is affordable enough for me to own my own license! Since I own my own license, I can have one copy of the software at work and one at home (I also use this software to create video game reviews)!
Pros
- Compared to other authoring/video tools, this is very affordable
- Great for rapid development!
- Very Intuitive Interface
Cons
- It is a memory hog so make sure you have the right hardware to create and publish videos
- There isn't a cloud-based version of this software at this time
- The audio tools are great, but, I believe there is room for improvement ;)
- Quick turnaround times
- Low licensing cost
- It is NOT Adobe Premier; however, what it can do for the money is outstanding!
Although it may not have all the bells and whistles Adobe Premiere Pro has or the flexibility of Storyline 360, for the amount of money it cost, you can still do some pretty amazing things with this software. If you are at all interested to see what I have done with it, I will be happy to share some of my work with you. I will also be happy to discuss this further if needed. I am very happy with this tool and will keep paying for my own license for it even if my company offers to pay for it themselves! That is how valuable I think this tool is!
