Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MX
Cisco Meraki MX is used in our branch offices to provide edge security. The advanced security options protect our offices and the centrally managed dashboard allow to simplified administration. Built-in features also allow for integration with our DNS filtering solutions, as well as, our network monitoring solution. We were able to reduce our costs by switching to Meraki without compromising our security.
- Central Management Dashboard
- Integration with DNS filtering
- Integration with network monitoring tools
- Higher price point than other competitors in the space
- Learning curve for admins
- Tiered features licensing for hardware
- Reduced costs compared to previous solution
- Insight into network traffic allowed for proper configuration and sizing of internet circuit
- Software license is pricey for advanced features
We found the Cisco Meraki MX dashboard to be much more intuitive and easy to use than our previous solution. Some of our admins had a learning curve adjusting to different terminology used for management, but overall it was an easier than expected transition. We abandoned our previous solution due to their outdated UI and slow update release schedule. Also, being able to pre-configure a device before it's shipped has been a tremendous help in our deployment efforts.
We have deployed several firewalls over the years and found Cisco Meraki MX to be a great contender. Datto has high recurring monthly fees for devices with limited configuration options. Ubiquiti works great for our entry-level clients that need a starting point but have a limited budget. Cisco Meraki MX eliminates the monthly recurring cost while providing a vast set of configuration options for the device.
