Overall Satisfaction with Cisco UCS Series

We use Cisco UCS to implement and manage VMs and connectivity to storage which gives us a single point to manage are compute needs. We also moved from fCOE connections to iSCSI connections to make it easier to manage the switch connections.

Cisco UCS is great for VM server integration and scalability of resources. The reduced provisioning time to spin up a server helps ease the management and time spent by a server admin. It can also integrate well with fiber channel switches. It is also more power efficient then having to deploy multiple physical servers.
Less time spent managing and deploying servers which pays for itself for the return of investment. It has also taken less space and energy in the Datacenter as well as provided high performance and availability. Also, we have to worry less about having physical hardware and potential failures for servers. In addition, with Cisco's great support, we are able to accomplish advanced changes with ease.
Yes, it was easy to configure and manage. Also, with Cisco's help we were able to change FCOE connection to iSCSI in order to simplify the networking side of the connection. Also, being able to deploy new servers and using OVA files for new deployments is easy and simple to do.

Cisco UCS is perfect for VM and storage management within your data center and the support from Cisco is great as well. If you only need a couple of servers, then it might not be a good fit, but for most medium to large organizations it is a good fit.
