Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

We use Deputy organization-wide. Our hourly employees use it to track their time, and we use the backend for timesheet review and approval. It integrates easily with Gusto, our payroll processor. One big issue it solved for us was ease of getting it into the hands of employees as a new company. Everyone just clocks in on their phone.

  • The Timesheet approval tool doesn't default to the proper pay period.
  • Deputy keeps us from getting too far into the weeks on time clocking.
  • Deputy makes timesheet approval a breeze.
We looked at a whole host of competitors, although I can't remember most of their names at the moment. Not a single one was as intuitive as Deputy. Not having a dedicated HR professional on staff, ease of use was paramount, and Deputy became the choice by default with how frustrated we were with the competition.

Timesheet tools often don't have the best usability for an outsider. Deputy bucks that trend. Everything is clean and simple in layout, and functionality is easy to identify. You don't have to waste too much time trying to find the tools you need.
Deputy is very well suited to clocking in for remote work, as employees can just use their phone. A clock in terminal is available to use, but we don't use that. Phone clocking in may not be the best option for sites with more limited oversight.

Deputy Support

Deputy support is quick and responsive. We honestly haven't needed to reach out to their support much at all, but their live chat has been great in rare instances where we need some help.
