Overall Satisfaction with Heap

We are using it to track the usage of our application and to identify the areas in which we need to focus our efforts.
  • [Allows] non-engineering talent to gather the information they need.
  • Some of the automatic tracking is great.
  • The API is pretty useful for sending custom events and even properties.
  • I would love to see more support for the React application that loads a virtual DOM.
  • I would love to see easier integration with our database so we can have a more holistic view of our application.
  • One of our metrics around user engagement led us to make some small improvements to our product that have increased our engagement in noticeable ways.

Yes

It is really good at tracking events automatically and allowing our admins to build the dashboards they need without a lot of engineering support. The weak spot is that the automatic tracking doesn't work so well for the piece of our app that is fully built on React and isn't rendered on the server.
